Vinjai Vale, a junior from Philips Exeter Academy, who has done research in our lab since last summer, participated in the Science Fair hosted by New Hampshire Science and Engineering Expo (NHSEE) last week. He won the FIRST place from the Biochemistry Division, and the THIRD place in the overall fair. The title of his poster was "Engineering Surface Chemistries to Improve Tissue-Material Integration in Medical Implants".
We are very glad that his hard work even during the Christmas break paid off with this major distinction. The good news is he gets to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in May. We wish him all the best and fully support his preparation.
Vinjai was also accepted to the summer research program by Research Science Institute at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is a highly competitive program.
